The Research Unit activities span across different projects at the European, National and local levels.
The Ubiquitous Internet research unit has successfully coordinated and participated to many EU projects since in FP5, focusing on the design, prototyping and experimentation of new paradigms for mobile computing, human-centric Internet, smart cities, big data analytics, mobile technologies for human well-being, IoT and Industry 4.0.
Currently, the unit has several active projects at the EU and national levels. Main topics include the design of Next Generation Internet paradigms, social-aware decentralised AI, computational social systems, quantum networking, Industry 4.0, design of smart city services.
